Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data yusefbataineh.com collects, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have. It covers the public website and the forms on it.

Who is responsible

This website is operated by Yusef Bataineh, who is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, email hello@yusefbataineh.com.

What we collect and why

We only collect what you choose to send us through the site’s forms, plus the minimum technical data needed to protect those forms from abuse.

  • Contact form: your name, email address and message, so we can read and reply to it. A copy is sent to our email inbox.
  • Booking inquiries: your name, email address, message and the type of event, plus your phone number, event date, location and budget if you provide them, so we can respond and arrange the booking. A copy is sent to our email inbox.
  • Newsletter: your email address, the date you subscribed and whether your subscription is active, so we can send you news about shows and releases. For each newsletter we keep a record of the addresses it was sent to and whether delivery succeeded.
  • Reviews: the name you enter, your review and your star rating. Reviews appear on the site only after we approve them, and are then shown publicly with the name you entered.
  • Abuse protection: when you submit a form, your IP address is used to limit how many submissions can be made in a given period. It is stored with a counter and a timestamp, separately from what you submitted.

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Cookies and local storage

The public site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It uses:

  • NEXT_LOCALE: remembers whether you are viewing the site in English or Arabic. It is set when you switch language, or when the language you open differs from your browser’s preferred language, and it expires when you close your browser.
  • Sign-in cookies for the site’s administrators, set only when an administrator signs in to the management area. The management area also keeps a display preference in the browser’s local storage. Neither applies to visitors.

Videos and external links

  • Video previews show a thumbnail image loaded from YouTube’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address and basic browser information when such a page is displayed. The YouTube player, which may set its own cookies, loads only after you click play, and Google’s privacy policy applies to that content.
  • Tickets are sold by third-party providers. Links to ticketing and social media sites take you to services that have their own privacy policies.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers who process data on our behalf to run the site:

  • Supabase: database and file storage for the site’s content and for the form submissions described above.
  • Netlify: hosting and delivery of the website. To serve pages, it processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details.
  • Our email service provider: delivers form notifications to our inbox and sends the newsletter.
  • Sentry, when error monitoring is enabled: receives technical reports about errors on the site. It is configured not to receive cookies, form contents or email addresses.

These providers may store or process data outside Jordan.

How long we keep data

The site does not currently delete data automatically. Messages, booking inquiries, reviews and newsletter records are kept until we delete them or you ask us to, and notification emails remain in our inbox until they are deleted.

Unsubscribing, using the link in any newsletter, stops newsletter emails straight away. Your address then stays on our list marked as unsubscribed, unless you ask us to delete it.

Abuse-protection records (IP address, counter and timestamp) are not linked to your name or email address.

Your rights

This policy is written with reference to Jordan’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023. Subject to that law, you can ask us to:

  • tell you whether we hold personal data about you, and give you a copy of it;
  • correct or update inaccurate data;
  • delete your data;
  • stop processing your data, or withdraw a consent you have given, for example by unsubscribing from the newsletter.

To make a request, email hello@yusefbataineh.com. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you before acting on it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the competent data protection authority in Jordan.

Security

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, and access to submitted data is restricted to the site’s administrators. No online service can be completely secure; if you find a vulnerability, please follow our Security Policy.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.
